Senior Legal Counsel, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
A member of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources, Zach Pilchen has conducted work for such legal organizations as the Northwest Environmental Defense Center, Perkins Coie, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon. Zach Pilchen is experienced with an array of environmental law-related subjects, such as issues regarding climate change and the Clean Air Act.
Zach Pilchen received a doctor of law magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School (2013), as well as a certificate in environmental law. While in law school, he received an award for best oral advocate in the Lewis & Clark First-Year Moot Court Program, and was a national champion at the National Animal Law Moot Court Competition in 2013. While working on his environmental and energy law LL.M at George Washington University Law School, he held the position of Randolph C. Shaw Graduate Fellow in Administrative Law.
Zach Pilchen has also been acknowledged for his legal writing. He wrote for a law review at Lewis & Clark and is a member of the National Order of Scribes, an honorary organization that recognizes law students who demonstrate exceptional talent in writing. Currently, he works as an attorney for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
